A suspect stole a $4,800 pair of binoculars from a bird-watching equipment store on June 5, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The suspect took off from the showroom and flew out of the parking lot in a gray Lexus sedan.

The suspect was an African American male wearing an orange hoodie sweatshirt with light colored pants and a black baseball cap worn backwards.

The store that was targeted was most likely Optics4birding, located at 19 Hammond Ste 506 Irvine, CA 92618. Optics4Birding sells bird watching equipment, accessories, and more. Follow them on Facebook here.

If you are the suspect and “egret” doing this, tweet the Irvine Police Department, it would be a “birden” off your shoulders! If you can help the police to “quack” this case, please contact njohnson@cityofirvine.org.
