On Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 2:50 AM, Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting victim at the 1400 block of S. Main Street.

Officers responded and located an adult male in a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso. Orange County Fire Authority arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding this homicide appear gang-related and the investigation is ongoing. The Orange County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Angel Fregoso (31) of Santa Ana.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.
