On Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 10:25 p.m., Santa Ana Police Officers responded to the 1200 Block of South Oak Street (near Pacific Electric Park) regarding a report of shots heard in the area. Officers located an adult male unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Orange County Fire Authority arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim has been identified as Jerardo Vieyra (25) from the city of Fullerton.

Based on preliminary evidence and investigation, detectives are investigating this homicide as a possible gang related incident. Detectives are attempting to gather and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this case.
