A man was arrested after a series of crashes that ended with four people injured and a scuffle with police early Wednesday, July 11., according to the O.C. Register.
Giovanni Arreguin, 18-years-old, has been identified as the man who was killed early on Saturday, March 17, when his car ran into a tree after veering off the roadway in Santa Ana’s Floral Park Neighborhood, according to the OC Coroner.
Arreguin was driving an unidentified vehicle eastbound on Santa Clara Ave., from Heliotrope Ave., at about 2:40 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and ran into a tree located on the south side of the 600 block of W. Santa Clara Ave., according to the SAPD. Continue reading

SAPD police officers responded to a collision involving a single vehicle into a commercial business early this morning, at the 300 block of East 17th St.. Upon arrival the police officers observed an occupied white sedan that was partially wedged into the second floor of a dental office.
They determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, northbound on French approaching 17th. The driver continued northbound and struck the raised center median on 17th, which launched the vehicle into the air. The vehicle struck the 2nd floor of the building and remained lodged. Pheach Phath, a 66-year-old man died in a one-car collision on Sunday morning, after hitting a brick wall at the corner of East Edinger Avenue and Cedar Street, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
The SAPD heard about the crash early on Sunday morning, at 5:54 a.m. They reported that no other car was involved in this incident. Continue reading
An unidentified man in his 50s was badly hurt after his sport-utility vehicle crashed into a house at the 2100 block of South Greenville Avenue, at W. St. Gertrude Place, in Santa Ana this morning at around 9:40 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The man’s bronze Hyundai crashed into the garage portion of the house and the driver ended up at a local hospital, in what was described as serious condition. Continue reading
Last night, Santa Ana Unified School District Police Officers were in the area of Dyer and Main Street when they observed a dog get hit by a car. The dog was thrown across the street and into a storm drain.
The Officers immediately responded and with the help of an unidentified Good Samaritan, were able to pull the man hole cover open. An Officer was then able to climb down into the storm drain where he retrieved the injured dog. The dog was transported to an animal hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. Roger Gomez was awakened by a loud noise at 7 am today. He ran outside and found out that someone had hit and badly damaged his car. There were witnesses and they were able to write down the first and last digits of the license plates, “5EA756.” The car was a tan Trail Blazer.

On Saturday, June 21st, 2014 at 2:06 am, patrol officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of 1st Street at the I-5 freeway. The first officer to arrive reported that the vehicle had two trapped/injured occupants and requested the assistance of OCFA and Medics, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The vehicle involved was a black 2001 BMW 325i sport sedan. Firefighters were required to utilize heavy equipment to extricate the driver. The passenger of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene by Medics. The Driver was transported to the Western Medical Center in critical condition. There was preliminary information that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
At 11:16 AM, SAPD officers were dispatched to a possible fatal traffic collision near the intersection of 17th and Newhope, according to an SAPD press release.
The collision involved a single vehicle being driven by a female adult (60’s) which struck a tree in the center median.
The SAPD has issued a SigAlert for Eastbound 17th street Newhope to Harbor Blvd until further notice. Continue reading
SAPD Advisory: Vehicle vs pedestrian fatal
A six-year-old boy was killed and his grandmother seriously injured when they were struck by a pickup truck as the woman walked the child and his seven-year-old sister to school Monday in Santa Ana, according to authorities, as reported by the Fountain Valley Patch. The accident location is very near to Washington Elementary School.
The boy was later identified as Alan Martinez, according to KTLA. His surviving sister is named Mia.
The 48-year-old grandmother sustained multiple broken bones, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna and Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

The accident happened at 1st and Sullivan streets at about 9 a.m. Authorities say it appears the driver of a Nissan Altima, a 65-year-old man, ran a red light at Sullivan Street, slamming into a Nissan Infiniti.
