    1. There are on average 20 to 35 crimes committed daily in Santa Ana. That comes to about 750 crimes per month and about 9,000 crimes per year. That’s a lot of crime victims. And a lot of suffering…

      1. Crime hasn’t been this low since the early 1980’s when the City had 231,000 people. That means we have 100,000 MORE residents but less crime! Go figure!

So… why do you keep up this fear mongering? You should be happy the way things are going.

        1. Keep on spinning that line but when you become the victim I have a feeling you will be spinning a very different story.

BTW, the Council Members have been preaching transparency since last year. Isn’t that what we are doing by publishing the city’s crime data?

          1. How am I spinning that line when it’s something called “statistics?” I can’t make that stuff up.

BTW, what does my comment have to do with City Council transparency? I’m not telling you to stop posting this info up, its on crimemapping.com. Anyone can look at them. What I am telling you to do is STOP fear mongering. What is this, yellow journalism? C’mon dude. We don’t live in a 10K town. We live in a city of 330,000 people in a county with 3 million. Of course there is going to be crime!

If you don’t want ANY crime, try moving to a small town in Montana. Oh wait, they have crime in small towns too? What!?

          2. Nobody is fearmongering and copying and pasting from CrimeMapping is not yellow journalism. It is simply the facts. And the fact is that there are on average 20-35 crimes committed in Santa Ana every day including an attempted kidnapping this past Sunday.

If you don’t like this information may I suggest you not read it?
