2024 Viva La Vida Santa Ana

Santa Ana, CA — The 10th annual Viva la Vida Santa Ana Día de Muertos celebration is set to take place this Saturday, November 2nd, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana along 4th Street, from French to Main. This vibrant cultural event, organized entirely by a dedicated committee of volunteers, has become a staple for the Santa Ana community and a cherished tradition in celebrating and honoring loved ones who have passed on.

This year marks a significant milestone for Viva la Vida Santa Ana, with our organizing committee doubling in size to bring even more to this beloved celebration. As a non-profit, our mission is to provide an authentic, inclusive, and culturally enriching experience that showcases the true spirit of Día de Muertos.

Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a time-honored tradition that originated in Mexico, dedicated to remembering and celebrating loved ones who have passed away. At the heart of the event will be beautifully crafted altars, or altares, honoring the departed, alongside artisan vendors, live entertainment, and a selection of delicious food trucks to enjoy.

In an exciting collaboration this year, our event neighbors, El Poder de la Cultura Morelense Chinelos, will join us with a colorful chinelos parade that will wind its way through the festivities, adding even more energy and traditional flair to the celebration.

We invite the community to come together and experience this lively and meaningful day filled with family, tradition, and culture. Viva la Vida Santa Ana promises a memorable experience for everyone who joins us in honoring Día de Muertos.
