On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 2:44 p.m., Santa Ana Police officers responded to a call of a male not breathing inside a residence located in the 5300 block of West 3rd Street. Officers located a male down in a bedroom with trauma to his upper torso.  Orange County Fire Authority responded and pronounced the subject deceased. SAPD Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
 
The decedent was identified as 51-year old Julio Martinez of Santa Ana.  The circumstances surrounding the male’s death are currently being investigated.
 
Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed additional light on this incident.
