Today, Aug. 16, the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) declared an ALERT due to low power reserves, which is the difference between the available supply and demand for electricity. 1-hour rotating outages could be declared.

CAISO encourages Southern California Edison customers to reduce energy throughout the day to help avoid CAISO rotating outages. SCE will send updates until conditions improve.
