Santa Ana Police Department Advisory: Santa Ana Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide

On Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at approximately 0127 hrs., patrol officers
responded to the apartment complex located at 502 E. Pine St. on a call involving shots fired and a wounded male. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The incident occurred in the underground parking lot of the complex.

The Orange County Fire Authority Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the subject dead.

Based on initial facts of the investigation the incident is believed to be gang related. The Santa Ana Police Department Gang Detail responded for the investigation. At this time Gang Homicide Unit detectives are still followingup leads in an attempt to get the suspect, or suspects, in custody.

The victim’s name is not known at this time. Anyone with information is
asked to contact the S.A.P.D. Gang Unit at (714) 245-8648. This case
qualifies for the reward program.

The Santa Ana Police Department is offering monetary rewards for
information leading to the arrest of gang homicide or felony gang assault suspects. Anyone with information about any gang homicide or felony gang assault suspects may call (714) 245-8648.
