Lucca (Vegetarian) Sandwich

Santa Ana’s City Place recently suffered through the abrupt closure of their McCormick & Schmicks restaurant, but there is good news to report now, as a new restaurant called Paninoteca Maggio opened its doors at 195 City Place Dr., in April of this year.

“Turns out, this isn’t your average sandwich shop – Chef Sharron Barshishat is formerly of L.A.-based food truck Great Balls on Tires,” according to the O.C. Register.  Great Balls on Fire (GBOT) serves meatballs and other savory balls of food, according to their website.

Paninoteca Maggio’s menu offering a varied selection of Italian sandwiches, salads and what many have deemed the best espresso in town. What sets Paninoteca Maggio apart from the others, according to their website, is Chef Sharron’s obsessive commitment to the quality of ingredients and preparation that comes from years of training and a love of his job. The chef-driven menu of sandwiches and salads, and daily specials uses only the best authentic, imported Italian cold cuts, salami, cheeses and fresh breads. Fresh vegetables are also sourced from the local markets to ensure only the finest organic ingredients are used and fresh bread comes daily from one of the finest European bakers in Orange County. Paninoteca Maggio also offer freshly made deli food to go, pastas, antipasti, small plates, cold cuts, cheeses and Italian specialty items. There are an array of Italian sandwiches to choose from, reasonably priced at around $7 as well as a nice variety of salads for around $5 each. There are also several breakfast selections on the menu.

Paninoteca Maggio might be the smallest sandwich shop to bring an Italian experience to Orange County, which it does from the moment you step into the shop. The mix of old European decor, contemporary reclaimed green elements and touches of industrial modernism add to the aroma of fresh roasted Italian coffee beans, you will know Paninoteca Maggio is not just another Italian sandwich shop. For additional information or to place an order, please visit Paninoteca Maggio at 195 City Place Drive, Santa Ana 92705 or visit their web site at www.paninotecamaggio.com. For further information contact Sharron Barshishat at (714) 277-8095 or email paninotecamaggio@gmail.com.
