Orange County DUI Enforcement – Summer/Labor Day Schedule

SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 14, 2014) – The Orange County ‘Avoid the 38’ DUI Task Force is announcing its upcoming enforcement operations for the Summer/Labor Day Holiday DUI Campaign from August 15 through September 1, 2014. The following schedule of operations, dates, and locations are provided for media release:
DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints:

  • City of Irvine: Fri, August 15, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
  • City of Stanton (OCSD): Fri, August 22, 6:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
  • Cities of Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos and Seal Beach (Multi-Agency): Fri, August 22, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
  • Cities of Irvine and Tustin (Multi-Agency): Fri, August 29, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

DUI Saturation Patrols

  • Cities of Los Alamitos and Seal Beach (Multi-Agency): Fri, August 22, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
  • CSU Fullerton Police: Sat, August 23, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
  • Cities of Garden Grove, Seal Beach and Westminster (Multi-Agency): Sat, August 23, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
  • City of Orange: Fri, August 29, 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

The following enforcement operations are also scheduled during the Summer/Labor Day Holiday DUI Campaign but either the exact dates have yet to be determined or have been restricted for media release.

  • DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints: Cities of Brea, Buena Park and Westminster.
  • DUI Saturation Patrols: Cities of Irvine and Tustin (Multi-Agency); Anaheim; Fountain Valley; Los Alamitos; Placentia; Seal Beach; Tustin; and UC Irvine Police.
  • DUI Warrant/Probation Sweeps: Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Westminster Police Department.
  • DUI Court Sting Operations: Orange County Sheriff’s Department

Funding for the “Avoid” program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Statistical data on the number of DUI arrests and DUI fatal crashes will be released from the previous day’s activities throughout the holiday campaign.
