The 4th Annual OC Film Fiesta Opening Night Celebration with MARIACHI GRINGO starring Lila Downs and Shawn Ashmore, is set for Friday, September 6, 2013, at 7 pm, at the Fiesta Twin Theatre in Downtown Santa Ana, located at 305 E. 4th St.

X-Men’s Shawn Ashmore stars as a stifled, small-town man stuck in a dead end life, who runs away to Mexico to be a mariachi singer. MARIACHI GRINGO is a musical tour-de-force exploring the reality of “following your dreams” across cultural, personal, social and geographical borders. Also starring Grammy-award winning singer Lila Downs, Tom Wopat (Dukes of Hazzard) and Yareli Arizmendi (Like Water for Chocolate). Winner of Best Mexican Picture and Best Actress at the 2012 Guadalajara Film Festival. Martha Higareda, Tom Wopat, Fernando Becerril and Yareli Arizmendi.

  1. Cannot wait for the Art Cinema to open where that theater is. Pretty cool addition to the East End and Downtown Santa Ana.
