Jose Enriquez, 26, of Buena Park was arrested after fatally striking a woman with his car on Saturday night. The Anaheim Police later arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The crash occurred just after 6:20 p.m. on Saturday night at Brookhurst Street north of Ball Road, according to the Anaheim Police.
Paramedics rushed the critically injured pedestrian to a local hospital, where she later died. The Anaheim Police Department has not yet released her name.
Enriquez, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the woman, did not flee from the scene. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the Anaheim Police.
The Anaheim Police shut down Brookhurst Street in both directions between Ball Road and Orange Avenue for several hours while their officers investigated the crash.

He was not under the influence. No one talks about what really happens. When the pedestrian WAS HIGHLY INTOXICATED and jumped in the middle of the street.. SMH.
That woman that he killed was my mother. Whoever left that comment on this story must be a friend of the guy and im sure he would say anything to get himself out of this mess. Another thing that wasn’t shared is that he had a minor in the car with him when he killed her. Her blood and parts of her were scattered up and down the whole street. She was a mother and grandmother. She didn’t even get a chance to meet some of her grandchildren yet.
Very sorry for your loss. I continue to be amazed and disgusted by the folks who support the criminals instead of their victims.
