An unidentified male pedestrian died late on Saturday after he was struck while walking at the 700 block of South Newhope St., in Santa Ana, at around 11 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.

The man whose vehicle struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The victim died at the UCI Medical Center.

The accident occurred at the intersection of W. McFadden Ave. and South Newhope St., next to Fitz Intermediate School.

The victim has not yet been identified by the O.C. Coroner.
