Orange, Ca (October 19, 2023) – A 73-year-old man riding a bicycle has died after being involved in a collision with a vehicle.

This morning, at 9:08 a.m., the Orange Police Department and the Orange Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Canyon View Avenue and Skylark Place.

The initial investigation determined a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east on Canyon View. The cyclist, a man from Orange, was in the crosswalk riding north on Skylark when he was struck by the Jetta.

The cyclist sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The woman driving the Jetta, also a resident of Orange, remained at the scene. Officers determined she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Traffic Unit responded and assumed the investigation. Anyone with information can contact Det. A. Rocha at 714-744-7342.
