A Honda Civic hit a parked car and then slammed into a residence, where it stopped, on Monday night, in Irvine’s Westpark neighborhood, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The collision started inside the home. The driver, Nicholas Ashton Perez, 20, of Orange, and his female passenger fled after the collision.

Our Orange County Fire Authority partners extinguished the fire while officers searched for the two people.

Perez and the female were quickly found a few streets away.

Perez was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for felony DUI and Felony hit and run.
