A man died in a traffic collision this morning in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, CA (December 21, 2024) – A 25-year-old man died in a fatal traffic collision involving two vehicles at Harbor Boulevard and Croddy Way, according to the SAPD.

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 9:19 a.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a traffic collision involving two vehicles, a GMC Sierra and a Toyota Camry, at Harbor Blvd. and Croddy Way.

Police officers, along with an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) crew, responded to the scene and located the male driver of the Camry unresponsive. Despite life-saving measures, OCFA pronounced him deceased at the scene. The male driver of the GMC was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the Camry was believed to be traveling northbound on Harbor Blvd. As the Camry attempted to make a westbound turn onto Croddy Way, it was struck by the GMC traveling southbound on Harbor Blvd. The cause of the collision is still under investigation however, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor.

The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as Reuben Contreras (25) of Santa Ana.
