Career College of California’s CEO speaks out about why they shut their doors

We reported on Jan. 28 that Career College of California, which was located in DTSA, closed down. For whatever reason the mainstream media has completely ignored this story. And Career College has not issued a formal press release explaining why they shut their doors.

However Career College’s CEO, Caleb Everett, contacted me yesterday with more information about what they have done to help their students to move on to other schools.

Career College has posted an their website that they closed down because “their expenses were greater than their revenues.” Apparently they lost their funding as well and could not continue to stay in business. Continue reading→

Career College of California in Santa Ana closed down today

The Career College of California (CCC), located in Santa Ana, shuttered their doors today. No explanation has been offered but several of their students contacted us today with the bad news. We also heard from a career advisor at CCC, who confirmed the closure.

SANTA ANA – Today, Career College of California has been designated a 2016 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds, and publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs SM and Military Spouse. The Military Friendly® Schools designation provides service members and their families with transparent, data driven ratings about post‐military education and career opportunities.

Institutions competed for the elite Military Friendly® School title by completing a survey of over 100 questions covering ten categories, including military support on campus, graduation and employment outcomes, and military spouse policies. Survey responses were scored against benchmarks across these key indicators of success. In addition, data was independently tested by EY (Ernst & Young) based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media with guidance from an independent Advisory Board of higher education and recruiting professionals. Career College of California, nestled in the East End of historic downtown Santa Ana, will hold its Commencement Ceremony at the Bowers Museum at 7 pm on Friday, July 10th. Mayta Santacruz, an associate with Alvarado Smith APC, will be the keynote speaker.

Mayte Santacruz is a native of Santa Ana and a graduate of the Santa Ana School District. She has been given numerous awards for her pro bono work, including the Attorney of the Year Award by the Orange County Public Law Center (2012), the President’s Pro Bono Service Award by the California State Bar (2012) and the Spirit of Volunteerism Award by the Orange County Register (2012). She also created a scholarship fund designed to assist graduates of the Santa Ana School District interested in pursuing a career in law. Continue reading→
