Two years ago, when there were nine candidates running for three seats on the Santa Ana Unified School District’s (SAUSD) School Board, there were numerous debates all over town.  I attended several of them.

This year, there are only four candidates and zero debates.  What happened?

I have never before seen this happen before in the SAUSD.  There have always been at least a few candidates debates.  Not this time.  Even the PTA took a pass!

I seriously doubt that this is happening in any other school district in Orange County.  The voters deserve to see their candidates, and to hear from them in candidates forums.
