Valadez, 60 min., USA, 2010).

When WWII GI Felix Longoria’s widow is denied the use of the chapel in Three Rivers, Texas for her husband’s funeral because “The whites won’t like it,” a Latino civil rights movement is born that will ultimately help propel John F. Kennedy to the White House and lead to the passage of the most important civil rights legislation of the 20th Century. This is the story of how The Longoria Affair affected the lives of two WWII veterans and a Texas Senator and ultimately changed civil rights in America. Winner of the 2011 Award for Outstanding Contribution to American Civil Rights History from the California State Legislature.
