FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UVSA HOSTS TẾT FESTIVAL 2014 AT OC FAIR AND EVENT CENTER

Garden Grove, CA (December 26, 2013) – For over thirty (30) years, the UVSA Tết Festival otherwise known as “Hội Tết Sinh Viên” or “Lunar New Year Festival” has become an annual tradition for the Vietnamese community in Southern California. Over time, the event has attracted thousands of visitors from all around the world and has provided an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate new beginnings. The Union of the Vietnamese Student Associations Southern California proudly announces that the Tết Festival 2014 will be hosted at the OC Fair and Event Center (88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA) from Friday, February 7th to Sunday, February 9th.

The festival’s theme “A New Spring,” reflects the high hopes and anticipation for the festival’s new location as well as celebrating a year of rebirth. In Vietnamese culture, they say that every twelve years (which is a full cycle of the zodiac), something new will occur. The relocation to the OC Fair and Event Center is an exciting opportunity for the festival to grow and become an even more enjoyable event for the general public.

With young, emerging leaders spearheading the volunteerism that is the backbone of the festival, UVSA will continue to collaborate with various Vietnamese community organizations to organize the event. UVSA has high hopes that the community will once again come together to create a grand festival that highlights the Vietnamese heritage during the Lunar New Year.
