SAPD police detectives were able to identify the suspect they believed had grabbed a family’s African Gray Parrot after it was stolen from their front porch on March 12.

Police found the stolen parrot on Tuesday afternoon after conducted an AB 109 probation search of the suspect’s residence at the 1300 block of South Douglas Street.

A woman at the residence said the parrot had been given to her by the suspect.

The suspect was not home during the search, and no arrests have been made. However the parrot was recovered and reunited with its family.
