After an extensive investigation of the recent shooting of a toddler, Homicide Detectives identified the suspect as Angel Castillo (20) of Santa Ana, according to the SAPD.

Castillo is a documented gang member who was located and arrested by Detectives on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Castillo was booked at the Santa Ana Jail for PC 664(a)-187(a) – Attempt Murder.

In concurrence with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Castillo was charged with two counts of PC 664(a)-187(a) – Attempt Murder, PC 246 – Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, PC 186.22(b) – Committing a Crime for the Benefit of a Criminal Street Gang, along with criminal enhancements for the use of a firearm. He was arraigned in Orange County Superior Court on March 4, 2024.
