The Santa Ana General Plan communicates the City’s long-range policies that reflect the vision and values of the community, to guide the physical, economic, social, and environmental programs administered by the City.
As part of the comprehensive General Plan Update effort, City staff is reaching out to Santa Ana’s communities that may be experiencing higher levels of pollution and associated health risks (communities shown in color on map).
Ten virtual community meetings will be held through May 2021, inviting residents to share their experiences and provide additional feedback on improving the environmental health and quality of life in their neighborhoods. The first Environmental Justice Neighborhood meeting is scheduled for the Artesia Pilar and Flower Park Neighborhoods on March 30, 2021, at 6:30 pm on Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/99430094817.
An online Environmental Justice Survey is also available to engage the community, with a special focus on residents in Environmental Justice communities. Environmental justice seeks to reduce pollution and increase public investments in these communities, while ensuring their input is considered in decisions that affect them. Learn more about Environmental Justice efforts in Santa Ana, view schedule of future Neighborhood meetings, and complete the Survey for a chance to win $100 by visiting the General Plan webpage https://www.santa-ana.org/general-plan.
