OCDA HOSTING BOOTH AT 35TH ANNUAL FIESTAS PATRIAS MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVITIES

SANTA ANA – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is proud to participate in the 35th Annual Fiestas Patrias Mexican Independence Day Festivities this Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. The weekend festival hosts over 200,000 people each year in Downtown Santa Ana on 4th Street between Broadway Street and Minter Street.

The festival celebrates Father Miguel Hidalgo’s call for Mexico’s independence from Spain, “El Grito,” and will feature entertainment, games and prizes, food, art and culture vendors, and exhibitors from local businesses, government, and law enforcement agencies.

In order to encourage community participation in law enforcement and community awareness regarding public safety, the OCDA Government and Community Relations Unit will host a booth to speak with visitors and hand out information in English and Spanish. The resource materials will cover information regarding victim resources, crime prevention, the criminal justice system, domestic violence, fraud, and identity theft. The booth will be located on the corner of 4th Street and Main Street.
