“Apologetic Bandit” Commits Armed Robbery at Arco Gas Station

MISSION VIEJO, CA – (October 4, 2013) – On Friday, October 4, 2013 at approximately 3:26 a.m. an armed robbery occurred at the Arco gas station on Crown Valley Parkway at the 5 freeway in the city of Mission Viejo. The suspect used a small, black handgun and the loss was cash.

The suspect was described as a male, 5 feet 7 inches, 20-22 years old with a small build wearing all black clothing, a black mask with glasses on the outside and black converse shoes. He was last seen leaving the business on foot and no vehicle was seen.

The suspect is believed to have committed several other robberies in the South Orange County area over the course of the last year; two robberies in the last week. In each of the previous robberies, the suspect clothing description was identical and he has been apologetic or extremely polite to the clerk. During this morning’s robbery, the suspect was apologetic and told the clerk to “Have a good night” before he left the business.
