On January 16, 2026, federal prosecutors announced charges against Marco Antonio Aguayo, a 22-year-old man from Anaheim, California, for allegedly making bomb threats against Disneyland during a visit by Vice President J.D. Vance.

According to the federal complaint, Aguayo posted threatening messages on Disneyland’s official Instagram page on July 12, 2025, claiming that pipe bombs had been placed in preparation for the Vice President’s arrival and threatening “bloodshed.”

According to a federal affidavit filed in January 2026, Marco Antonio Aguayo maintained at least four Instagram accounts

Key details regarding his social media presence include:

  • Primary Offense Account: Aguayo used the Instagram handle @jesses_andamy to post threatening comments on Disneyland’s official page in July 2025. This account appeared to be unavailable or taken down as of the morning of January 16, 2026.
  • Other Profiles: While Secret Service agents discovered a total of four Instagram accounts during their investigation, federal court records and news reports have not publicly disclosed the handles for the remaining three.
  • Claims of Hacking: When first questioned by agents, Aguayo suggested his account may have been hacked, but later admitted to writing the posts himself, characterizing them as a “joke”.

Outside of the Instagram accounts identified in the federal complaint, there is no public confirmation of active channels on other platforms such as TikTok or X (formerly Twitter).

Following the announcement of federal charges on January 16, 2026, it was not immediately clear if Aguayo had been taken into physical custody or if he was being permitted to remain out on bond. Federal court records did not initially confirm an arrest following the indictment.

It is not known if Aguayo is a registered Democrat or if he is in the U.S. legally.
