An unidentified 31-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he rode his motorcycle near Segerstrom Avenue and Spruce Street this morning at around 6:15 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.

The unfortunate motorcyclist collided with a small car and he was declared to be deceased at the scene by paramedics, according to the O.C. Fire Authority.

The driver of the car that was involved in the crash was an unidentified woman in her 20’s. She was not injured. The SAPD did not arrest or cite anyone involved in the incident.

The crash tied up traffic in all directions leading to the intersection, just as folks were trying to get to work. Police investigators had to close lanes in order to figure out what led to the accident. The lanes were reopened hours later, by noon.

The crash occurred just east of Carl Thornton Park.
