Last night at approximately 11:00 P.M., police officers were dispatched to the 6600 block of Westminster Boulevard in regards to shots fired, according to the Westminster Police Department.

Witnesses described a white truck leaving the area. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Edwards and Westminster, and a high-risk car stop was initiated. The occupants were detained without incident.

The police officers obtained consent from the driver/owner of the vehicle and discovered a loaded magazine was underneath the driver’s seat. With the assistance of a Westminster Police Department K-9 dog, a Glock 34 9MM with a loaded magazine was located under the passenger seat, which had been previously reported stolen.

The driver was arrested for shooting a firearm in a gross negligence manner and various weapons violation charges and was booked at the Orange County Jail.

No officers or citizens were injured.
