Back in December 2023, police officers responded to the area of Buena St. / Keel Ave. after receiving calls about a shooting, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

After the initial investigation, the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) continued following leads and were able to identify a suspect, Juan Uriarte, a male in his 30s, of Garden Grove.

Today, February 28, 2024, at 5:00AM, GSU served a search warrant at multiple locations connected to Uriarte, with the assistance of Community Impact Unit (CIU), Detectives, #GGPDK9unit, Traffic, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), SWAT, and the Santa Ana PD SWAT.

During the search, officers located four firearms, 200+ rounds of ammunition, and over 19 lbs. of methamphetamine.

Uriarte was later booked at Orange County Jail for attempted murder along with multiple other felonies.
