West End Community Oriented Policing to present Community Policing Forums for Santa Ana residents
Santa Ana, CA, –West End Community Oriented Policing, along with Connect-to-Council and Windsor Village Neighborhood Association, will present a Community Policing forum for the residents of Santa Ana. This forum will offer residents the opportunity to provide their input and assist in creating a community policing plan for Santa Ana. There will be a forum in each of the four policing districts (South Coast, West End, North East, and South East) in Santa Ana from January through April, with the first to be held on January 30, 2016. A lifelong resident of Santa Ana, Pearl Raya has dedicated her to life to improving opportunities for youth in her community
Pearl Raya is a lifelong resident of Santa Ana. She and her husband Leon are the proud parents of four children.
Pearl has spent her life supporting and mentoring families and children. She worked for the City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. Pearl developed and managed programs for at-risk youth, families and senior, and she served as director of the Southwest Senior Center and Santa Ana Senior Center. Continue reading
Carlos Sanchez Hernandez, 42, of Santa Ana, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure and child annoyance, according to the O.C. Register. He was sentenced to 68 days in jail and placed on three years of informal probation.
Between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on or around March 3, 2014 and June 4, 2014, Hernandez was accused of driving a white van near the location of Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana and Carr Intermediate School in Santa Ana. He was accused of parking his van along a curb on St. Andrew Street near King Street located between the two schools. Continue reading

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) are seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a man charged with masturbating inside a van while parked outside school parking lots. Carlos Sanchez Hernandez, 42, Santa Ana, is charged with two misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure and child annoyance. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of two years in jail and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. He is being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. Continue reading
