Chris Nguyen, a Republican blogger at the OC Political blog (a blog that promotes the OC GOP machine, not to be confused with the blog you are currently reading) who is also a staffer at Assemblyman Chris Norby’s office, launched a direct attack today on Jose Moreno (pictured above), the only Republican candidate for the 69th Assembly District.

Nguyen accused Moreno of violating the Hatch Act, which prevents most federal employees from running for partisan offices.  However, Moreno works for the County of Orange.  Nguyen tried to make the case that Moreno’s agency is funded by the federal government, but Moreno’s agency also receives funding from the State of California, and from local sources as well.

The Hatch Act explicitly exempts local government workers whose agencies receive state funding:
