Westminster man arrested with help from the SAPD after stealing an e-bike in Irvine

Last night, a Super-73 E electric bicycle was stolen from the LA Fitness on Irvine Blvd., according to the Irvine Police Department.

Thankfully, the owner was able to track his bike to Santa Ana.

The Santa Ana Police Department quickly located the suspect vehicle, which had the stolen bike hanging off the back of his vehicle, on a bike rack.

The Irvine police officers met up with their counterparts from the SAPD and took custody of the suspect, Richard Michael Saucedo, 52, of Westminster. Saucedo was wearing a hoodie with the word “Crooks” prominently displayed on it at the time of his arrest.

Saucedo was booked at Orange County Jail for grand theft.

The Irvine Police Department thanks the SAPD for their help!

If you don’t have a tracker on your e-bike, this case highlights how helpful they can be if your bike is stolen.
