Community: SANTA ANA PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS: “LOS QUE SE QUEDAN”, “THE HELP”, AND “BEDTIME STORIES”

SANTA ANA, CA (July 20,2012) – During the month of July, the Santa Ana Public Library will be showing three movies. On Monday, July 23, 2012, the documentary, “Los Que Se Quedan” (Those Who Remain) will be shown. This film, by Juan Carlos Rulfo and Carlos Hagerman, documents the families of those who have crossed the border to the United States in search of better opportunities. It explores the memories and identities of those who remain behind and continue to wait for their absent family members. Parents are strongly advised that this is a PG-13 documentary and is not suitable for small children.

On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, the library will feature “The Help,” an inspirational, courageous and empowering story about very different and extraordinary women who lived in the South during the 1960’s. They build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project, one that breaks society’s rules and puts them all at risk. “The Help” is a timeless, universal and triumphant story about the ability to create change. Parents are strongly advised that this is a PG-13 documentary and not suitable for small children.

On Saturday, July 28, 2012, “Bedtime Stories,” a magical comedy suited for the whole family will be shown. The life of a hotel handyman is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come true. He attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, by incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it’s the kids’ unexpected contributions that turn his life upside down.

All showings will take place at the Santa Ana Public Library in meeting room “A,” located on the second floor of the library. “Los Que Se Quedan” and “The Help” will begin at 6:30 p.m. “Bedtime Stories” will begin at 3:30 p.m. Please be on time as seats are limited.

SANTA ANA, CA – Durante el mes de julio, la Biblioteca Pública de Santa Ana exhibirá tres películas. Empezando el lunes, 23 de julio de 2012, la biblioteca presentará el documental, “Los Se Quedan”. Una película dirigida por Juan Carlos Rulfo y Carlos Hagerman, “Los Que Se Quedan” presenta a las familias que permanecen cuando sus seres queridos cruzan la frontera a los Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades. Explora sus recuerdos y nos da a conocer estas personas que permanecen detrás y continúan esperando a sus familiares ausentes. Seriamente advertimos a los padres que esta película está clasificada PG-13 y no es apta para menores.

El miércoles 25 de julio del 2012, la biblioteca de Santa Ana presentará la película “The Help (Criadas y Señoras),” una historia que inspira y ennoblece el espíritu humano basada en la vida de un grupo de mujeres extraordinarias y distintas durante los años 60s en el sur de E.U. Se desarrolla entre ellas un vínculo excepcional al participar en escribir un libro que romperá todas las reglas de la sociedad y las pondrá a todas ellas en peligro. “Criadas y Señoras” es una historia eterna, universal y victoriosa sobre la capacidad humana de forjar cambios en la vida. Seriamente advertimos a los padres que esta película está clasificada PG-13 y no es apta para menores.

El sábado, 28 de julio de 2012, la biblioteca enseñará la película “Bedtime Stories, (Cuentos para antes de Dormir)” una comedia mágica que le gustará a toda la familia. La vida de un conserje de hotel cambia para siempre cuando las historias que les cuenta a su sobrino y sobrina misteriosamente comienzan a hacerse realidad. Tratando de aprovechar el curioso fenómeno, el comienza a incorporar sus propias aspiraciones extravagantemente en un cuento tras otro, pero las inesperadas contribuciones que hacen los niños en conjunto con las del, le harán la vida imposible.

Todas las películas se exhibirán en la Biblioteca Pública de Santa Noel Ana, salón A, localizado en segundo piso. Las películas “Los que se Quedan” y “Criadas y Señoras” empiezan a las 6:30 P.M. “Bedtime Stories” comienza a las 3:30 pm. Le aconsejamos al público que sea puntual ya que el espacio del salón es limitado.
