VALERIE AMEZCUA WINS RACE FOR SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD
Santa Ana, California – Valerie Amezcua has won a seat on the Santa Ana Unified School District Board. Final election results posted by the Orange County Registrar of Voters show Amezcua placed second in a field of eight candidates. The results are expected to be certified tomorrow.
“I’m humbled by the support our campaign received from families throughout the Santa Ana Unified School District,” said Amezcua. “I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all of the candidates that volunteered their time and talents to advocate for improving our schools. I look forward to working with Boardmember John Palacio and the rest of my new colleagues in helping to move our district forward.”
Valerie Amezcua has served our community as an education advocate, a supervising probation officer, and a city commissioner. Since 1986, she has worked for the Orange County Probation Department. Valerie previously served as the Chairperson of the Human Relations Commission for the City of Santa Ana and represented the Orange County Probation Department as a member of Santa Ana’s Early Prevention and Intervention Commission (EPIC). She is the proud mother of Mickel Melendrez, who currently attends Santa Ana College.
Amezcua previously ran for the Santa Ana Unified School District Board in 2008 and 2012. She lost both elections by less than 1%.

Lets see if she sticks to her promise to institute term limits of 8 total years. Palacio might object.
So from what I read the Santa Ana Unified School District has another member with no experience in education and NO child I the school system! Great!
