Last week, Westminster Police Department officers responded to a report of a burglary alarm at a local business. The police officers arrived on the scene within 4 minutes and observed shattered glass scattered around the glass door, which was big enough for someone to have entered the business.

The Westminster police officers requested aid from a Huntington Beach PD K9 officer and proceeded to set a perimeter. As the search team was about to enter the business, a male subject was seen running out of the business, where the suspect put his hands up and was apprehended.

The police officers conducted an interior search of the business, and no other suspects were found inside the business. The officers obtained CCTV footage of the suspect parking at an adjacent building, going up to several cars, and pulling on door handles before he was seen tugging on the glass door, bending over, and going into the business and then out of view.

The suspect was arrested for Commercial Burglary and booked into the Orange County Jail.

The Westminster Police Department thanks the Huntington Beach Police Department for their assistance in the apprehension of this suspect.
