In early August, a male suspect approached a victim who had just withdrawn over $1,000 in cash from the Bank of America in Woodbridge area of Irvine. The thief was carrying documents and asked for help.

During the conversation, the man removed the withdrawn cash from the victim’s shirt pocket.

Distraction thefts have been happening in Irvine. Remember to keep your distance from strangers and be aware that thieves will distract victims to steal money, wallets, and other valuables. When leaving banks, put your cash away and never carry it in plain view.
