Anaheim homicide detectives have arrested a Santa Ana man for the murder of David McCabe, on July 20, 2019, in the 1500 block of W. Center Street.

A well-known drummer in the Orange County punk rock scene, McCabe’s band — the Knightenders — was slated to play at the Doll Hut this past Wednesday, according to KTLA.

Arthur Williams, a 34 year old resident of Santa Ana, was arrested without incident at a local hospital Wednesday afternoon. He was booked yesterday at Orange County Jail on one count of First Degree Murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

McCabe, a 48 year old resident of Dana Point, was found by a passerby who called the Anaheim Police Department. Arriving officers found him deceased from blunt force trauma injuries.

Detectives have confirmed McCabe and Williams were acquaintances, but will not discuss the motive for the crime. Williams’ booking photo will not be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the case who has not already been contacted by detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or www.occrimestoppers.org.
