The Irvine Police Depatment received a call about a burglary that just happened at an apartment community near Alton and Murphy on Friday night, as they posted on Facebook.

The responding police officers found the suspect vehicle leaving the area but the suspected burglar did not stop.

The officers pursued the vehicle to Santa Ana, where the suspect crashed the van and ran away.

The Anaheim Police Department’ss helicopter, Angel, helped the police officers to find the suspect.

After a foot pursuit, Luiz Ortiz, 28, of Santa Ana, was taken into custody. The van he was driving was an unreported stolen vehicle from Santa Ana.

The victim’s property was found inside the stolen van.

Ortiz was booked on multiple charges at Orange County Jail.
