Community: Climate Action Plan Community Meeting

The City of Santa Ana is developing a Climate Action Plan to reduce negative impacts on the environment. The Climate Action Plan will outline strategies to reduce Santa Ana’s greenhouse gas emissions from the City’s municipal operations and the community. The public is invited to join us in this discussion.

DATE: Wednesday, May 23, 2012

TIME: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Refreshments served

PLACE: City Corporate Yard — Large Training Room
220 South Daisy Avenue, Santa Ana

WHO:Santa Ana residents, businesses and organizations
Spanish and Vietnamese interpreters are provided.

Our goal in developing a Climate Action Plan is to lay the groundwork for creating an environmentally friendly future and to make the city a better place to live and work. Many of the strategies and measures will reinvest in the community through such benefits as improved air quality, reduced energy/water use, reduced traffic congestion, as well as other environmental improvements.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to hear about our progress in creating the Climate Action Plan and the role of greenhouse gas reduction measures. We will discuss emissions reduction measures and ask the community’s input on priorities among the possible measures. Citizens are welcome to share their ideas. This is your chance to make a difference in your community!

We encourage you to sign up for the meeting at www.santa-ana.org/climateactionplan. If you are not able to attend the workshop or would like more information, please visit the website and take our on-line survey so we may include your input and ideas.
