On Sunday, January 3, the U.S. House of Representatives convened for the beginning of the 117th Congress. Congressman Lou Correa (CA-46) took his oath of office and officially launched his third term as the Representative for California’s 46th Congressional District. Looking forward, Congressman Correa recommitted to protecting the America Dream.

Rep. Lou Correa said, “Today I begin my third term as your representative in Washington. These last four years have been trying for us all, but today I recommit to each of you. Our country faces grave problems that can only be solved through cooperation and working across party lines.

“As we address climate change, comprehensive immigration reform, caring for our veterans, stagnant wages, rising unemployment, rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and healthcare reform let us remember that we are stronger together.

“In the coming years, we have the opportunity to cast aside our differences and find solutions that help all Americans. I will continue to put the needs of my working families first and prioritize solving problems over partisan theatrics. Together we can make a difference.”

Fighting For Orange County Working Families: Congressman Lou Correa has served North Orange County since he was first elected to the California State Assembly in 1998. Over the past 22 years, Congressman Correa has steadfastly represented the needs of working families in Orange County, championing bipartisanship and the protection of the American Dream.

As the child of immigrants, the Congressman knows firsthand what it takes to reach the middle class and seeks to ensure future generations have the same opportunities he had. Congressman Correa will continue to address the needs of Orange County families.

In the 117th Congress, he will prioritize:

  • Providing immediate and substantial support for millions of Americans facing grave economic challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Investing in our crumbling infrastructure and creating good-paying, middle-class jobs;
  • Ensuring the United States keeps its promises to veterans and their families;
  • Providing DACA recipients with permanent protection and a pathway to citizenship;
  • Addressing emerging national security threats resulting from climate change.

Rep. Lou Correa represents California’s 46th Congressional District. He serves as Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, and as the Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet.
