Fullerton Police press release

On December 11, 2024, an adult female reported to the Fullerton Police Department that she had been a victim of an aggravated assault, s*xual assault, and kidnapping that started in Fullerton. The victim told officers that she met the suspect a few days prior through mutual acquaintances. The suspect was alleged to have been armed with several firearms during the commission of these crimes.

Detectives immediately began their investigation and identified the suspect as Arturo Urbina, a 30-year-old resident of Los Angeles. Fullerton Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Urbina.

On the evening of December 16, 2024, the ATF Orange County Violent Crime Task Force located Urbina in the Los Angeles County area. They requested the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Aero Bureau and the California Highway Patrol to assist in the apprehension of the wanted suspect.

Urbina fled from officers and led them in a vehicle pursuit that ended when the vehicle struck a pole in the City of Torrance. Following the traffic collision, Urbina ran from his vehicle, however, was quickly apprehended.

No other vehicles were involved in the traffic collision.

At the time of his arrest, Urbina was found be in possession of several firearms.
