SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 18, 2021) – The Orange County One-Stop Center has partnered with Community Housing Council (CHC) Southern California to provide housing counseling to homeowners and renters. As residents work through forbearance and rent moratoriums, this program intends to educate and empower prospective homebuyers, current homebuyers, and renters to make informed housing decisions.

A HUD-approved housing counseling agency, CHC helps hundreds of individuals and families with their housing needs. Housing counselors are experienced, trained professionals who work one-on-one with all ages to provide guidance on wherever an individual or family is in the housing process.

Examples of counseling include:

  • Educating renters of their rights and how to interpret a lease agreement
  • Educating prospective homebuyers on how to make an informed housing decision and become “mortgage-ready”
  • Informing current homeowners on their mortgage options and how to deal with default or foreclosure
  • Informing current homeowners on how to protect their investment; and more

Housing counseling is now available in-person or virtually for any resident or family interested in homeownership or renting. Interested individuals can schedule an appointment today by calling (833) 658-1904.

For more information, call the Orange County Economic and Business Recovery Call Center at (714) 480-6500 or visit oconestop.com.
