Correa hosting a “Seniors Making a Difference” awards breakfast on July 15

State Senator Lou Correa is hosting a special “Seniors Making a Difference” Awards Recognition breakfast on Friday, July 15, 2011 • 8:30-10:30am, at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue, in Garden Grove.

Please join the California Senior Legislature, Acacia Adult Day Health Services, AARP, and fellow senior volunteers for a celebration of community and public service. The program will include awards recognition, legislative updates, music, and tribute.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 32 honors senior volunteers who serve congregate and home-delivered meals, engage in assisted senior activities, work for the prevention of elder abuse, and provide health care counseling, legal assistance, and transportation. SCR 32 also recognizes volunteer work performed for Alzheimer’s patients, grandchildren, community organizations, schools, churches, hospitals, and many other nonprofit organizations.
