A 22-year-old woman was injured Tuesday morning in what police believe was a gang-related shooting, according to the O.C. Register.

The woman was walking with a group of people in the 300 block of North Jackson Street around 5:20 a.m. when the occupants of a northbound car opened fire, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department. The pedestrians returned gunfire, and the woman was struck in the upper body, he said.

This is the fifth shooting this month in our city.

Curiously the City of Santa Ana didn’t send out a notification about this latest shooting.   They normally do but perhaps the police have been told to clam up.

In related news the City Council announced that they want to change our campaign finance laws so that they can effectively squeeze city vendors for more campaign donations.

Does that mean the people really aren’t dead?
