Councilmembers of Santa Ana, since it seems clear that Michele Martinez has become the unofficial spokesperson for you, in the matter of the Walters “baby with the bathwater” termination, I’d like to comment on two statements she’s made during this flap.
With respect to the first comment: “I was not very excited or happy that Miguel didn’t want to do a nationwide search when we had the opportunity. He (Mayor Pulido) forced Paul on us.”
Mr. Walters was forced on you (the council)?
With all due respect, I guess I have to ask the people…the voters…of Santa Ana a question:
What kind of people have we elected to office? Perhaps it’s just a pipe dream to ask our elected officials to stand on principles and, on critical issues, NOT to cower in the face of adversity.
By Martinez’ own words, this is OBVIOUSLY not the City Council we currently have in office.

Walters, throughout his years as both City Manager and Chief of Police, has done ENORMOUS good for Santa Ana: lowered crime rates, balanced budgets, etc….
….and the City Council, as stated by Martinez, wants to take the city in a “new direction”?

I truly hope that YOU will take to heart Martinez’ words during these next election seasons (or special elections), when various members of the City Council will be up for re-election or recall:

I have read and heard their most vocal supporters now say that downtown business owners and developers who live elsewhere have more at stake than voters!

My guess is a few well placed banners, a few thousand fliers and a small army of ballot signature gathers (Like the Medical Marijuana measure) and she goes off the deep end.

Not to be mean, but she could ride her bike to the moon and it wouldn’t take her out of obese range.

Why waste time and money on a recall of one council member?
A repeal of messure “D” in June 2014 would bring in 3 new council members by itself in Nov. 2014
And since the council members were go go for messure GG term limits on the office of the Mayor, how could they be against bringing council member terms to an equal level?

I am not only one who claims that more than 50% of the anonymous postings here are yours.
Claim whatever you want. I am telling you that is not the case. Our software logs IP addresses and I would be happy to show you the proof if you so desire. Everyone has a unique IP address and if you use other computers or a smart phone then you have several such addresses. I have nothing to hide in this regard.
As for the fliers in question I have a pile of them here on my desk if you would like to see those. It most certainly did happen and my kids were most upset by this.
