On Monday, September 4, 2023, at 12:25 PM, Westminster Police Officers responded to the area of Bolsa Avenue and Bushard Street regarding a report of a traffic collision.

Upon arrival, the police officers learned that three vehicles had collided with each other in the number one northbound lane of Bushard Street south of Bolsa Avenue.

The passenger of one of the vehicles, a 76-year-old male, was found unresponsive in the vehicle. Officers on the scene extricated the subject from the vehicle and began CPR.

The Orange County Fire Authority responded and took life-saving measures while transporting the subject to UCI Medical Center. The subject was rushed into emergency surgery upon arrival at UCI Medical Center. He is currently in critical condition.

Members of two other vehicles involved in the accident reported non-life-threatening injuries which did not require medical attention.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played a role in the cause of the accident.
