Recently, a patrol officer developed information about a resident possibly selling narcotics out of her residence near Jamboree and Michelson, according to the Irvine Police Department.

He partnered with our Specialized Investigations Division (SIU). They developed further intelligence and evidence. Yesterday, the team conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle and found a significant amount of narcotics and money.

Last night, SIU served a search warrant at her residence, where Detectives found over 4,000 ecstasy pills, two pounds of ketamine, a half pound of methamphetamine, and other narcotics.

Yuzhu Yang, 31, of Irvine, was arrested for numerous narcotics violations and booked at Orange County Jail.

This case is a reminder that Irvine’s police officers go above and beyond to keep dangerous substances out of the community.

  1. “This case is a reminder that Irvine’s police officers go above and beyond” – how did they go above and beyond the standard duties of the job they’re sworn to and paid for? (Good police work, hyperbolic writing)
