A female suspect is suspected of cashing over $40,000 in checks stolen from a post office, according to the Irvine Police Department.

If you are mailing checks or other valuable items, do not use a public post office box or your home mailbox. Handing mail to a letter carrier or dropping it off inside the post office is safest.
