On September 8, 2022, at approximately 12:06 AM, a female victim was walking home from work in the area of 3300 block of west McFadden Avenue when a male suspect physically assaulted her. During the assault, the suspect attempted to strangle and assault the victim sexually but the suspect stopped his attack when a passerby intervened.

Detectives believe the suspect rode the same OCTA bus as the victim and followed her as she exited the bus. Video surveillance shows the suspect getting into the OCTA bus near Sunflower Ave and Harbor Blvd.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, early 30’s, approximately 5’09”, 180 pounds, wearing a dark green t-shirt and dark pants.

The Santa Ana Police Department is asking anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Special Crime Section Detective A. Miller at 714 245-8363 or at amiller5@santa-ana.org.
